Great news everyone: the latest Indiana Jones movie is out. Indiana does not yet have a commit in the class of 2024, but is pursuing multiple 2024 five-star and four-star prospects, such as Liam McNeeley, Boogie Fland, Patrick Ngongba II and Austin Swartz. Everything you're saying is basically irrelevant, because there is absolutely no reason as to why it should be locked.Ĭlick to expand.Sony doesn't reject mods because of money. It has nothing to do with some legal mumbo-jumbo, because it doesn't really change anything, and neither Sony nor paradox / tantalus can be held liable for someone using them and breaking their game, that is on the player. It is seriously just a matter of the devs and for whatever reason THEY keep it locked. But if they approved of the game in its current state, then they approved of the command console otherwise they would have made the devs remove it entirely. The only reason they wouldn't approve a dlc is because they can't make enough money, only reason they don't approve mods is because they aren't licensed by the company so they can't make money, it all comes down to money at the end of the day. Those same cheat codes break games all the time, yet they still exist. Ark isn't the only game with access to a command console. I can't even begin to list the amount of games that have them on PlayStation because there are so many, across literally every platform they have ever released. There is another way too, but it's much more complicated - you'd have to delve into the steam API files - they keep a tred of it in the file. They probably slipped past because it was already in the game like it is this one lolīut seriously, the command console is literally the exact same thing as cheat codes. If you erased your upload before the new patch came out, and then uploaded again to their cloud service, if you do their "Verify Integrity" or something like that at the bottom of the right click menu on the game in the list on Steam, and follow the prompts, it will replace your entire install of the game to what you saved it as on the cloud. I don't really actively use Steam anymore so I don't do it on Linux now but it can be done on any operating system. I use to use it on Windows to do it, before I switched to Linux. There is a way to roll back a patch on Steam actually. The only complaint I have with Steam is the fact that you can't roll back a non-working patch. Steam makes the process of updating your games so much simpler. I remember the old days when all developers did just what you are suggesting and it was a huge pain in the rear to keep up with everything. No offense, but I really really hope Obsidian never does something like this. I know it can still be done, there are in fact devs that still do this. Obsidian isn't getting another penny of my money until they start doing it this way. I've decided to start only supporting developers that control the distrubtion of patches internally. they just slow crap down with their inane in house "testing" procedures, which actually tend to break already functional patches more often than not, and then THEY have to go and try and fix their mistakes, on top of whatever issues there are with any base patch the developer sent. I am pretty sure it has something to do with this because it wasn't happening to the person in the youtube video.Īctually, you shouldn't be thanking gog. So when I type 2 in iroll20s it switches to my #2 character on the toolbar. I will add that when I am typing in the command my hotkeys are still functioning. All I want to do is change my companions' level1 abilities (Bears Fortitude Durance plz.) I feel like there is a very high chance I am missing something very obvious. My silent rage increases with each failed attempt. Is it not the Enter key that inputs the command? I watched a Youtube video of someone inputting the command to see if I am doing something wrong. I have searched everywhere to see if someone had a similar issue - nothing. It's as if the Enter key stops working when the console is up. I can open up the console with ~ and type whatever I want in there, but after pressing enter again to input the command nothing happens. This weird website is, like the name suggests, inherently funny. My favorite link is the FAQ section which makes me laugh out loud a little every time. It’s weird, it’s funny, and it’s oddly relatable. It’s well done and quite comical when you think of how it sheds light on the current dating culture. The website is a fake dating site that allows you to buy dates. This website is a play on amazon and is eerily close to their layout and experience. Think classic Pictionary but with an AI instead of a human. It then uses AI and machine learning to try and guess what you have drawn. This website gives you 20 seconds to draw an image based on a prompt. This website is kind of fun, especially if you have an iPad or tablet with a pencil and like to draw. It’s dumb but strangely satisfying when you finally find the cow. Your only clue is someone shouting “Cow!” that gets louder when you’re getting close to the animal. When I first found this one, I thought it was really stupid. The neverending quilt is actually really beautiful, so if you appreciate art, take a look at this weird site. They actually have multiple options on the left and you can use your arrow keys to go backward or forwards as fast as you want. I thought it was going to end at first, but then it just doesn’t. It’s strangely mesmerizing and I found myself unable to look away. I put this one first on the list because I honestly thought it was so cool. There are a whopping 49 weird websites on this list, and we have broken them down into different categories for you based loosely on their intended purpose (because sometimes all one can do is guess). The interesting thing is… Only ONE of these weird websites is actually monetized! (at least as far as we can tell from first glance). Well, these people are clearly coloring outside of the lines… They’ve created content for a very different purpose, and we’re here for it. We tell you to choose a good niche and a good name and create a really useful website. Some people have too much time on their hands, I suppose.īut here’s the thing… we all like to think inside the box. While I’m sure some of them are even surprisingly useful, they take it to a level that makes you question why they even exist in the first place. Did you know that there are some REALLY weird websites out there? Perhaps you might already know that, but some websites take weird to a whole new level. This could explain his connection the mystery cult that Lila and her husband are implied to have been members of, which may explain him targeting her as she defected. Not much is known about Bob's life before the events of Spooky Month, but it's implied he has a connection to Lila and her family, appearing in the background of one of her childhood photos. In It's Spooky Month, Bob had pointed red ears instead of horns. His fingers are also sharper and claw-like. In his devil outfit, Bob's head and hands are now red, with him now having horns and no external ears. He also wields a filleting knife and sharpener. He has short black hair combed up and wears a red turtleneck and black pants, below which he wears his cultist necklace and a utility belt. He also seems to be capable of acting decently, walking through the haunted house calmly without attacking anyone despite attacking Streber the vampire guy earlier.īob is a tall, heavyset man with a crazed grin at all times. He also appears to love candy more than murder, never resisting an opportunity to snatch up candy. This does lead to some of his downfalls as when he crosses the road without looking both ways in pursuit of Skid and Pump, he doesn't spot Jack and John's police car and is run over. pausing to eat candy while pursuing his victims, showing he's certain he'll catch up later. He is also shown to be quite confident, laughing at Lila when she uses a lemon to defend herself as well as frequently. He is so dangerous, that if he escapes, the mayor and police grow nervous. He is also vengeful and sadistic, choosing to get revenge on Lila by killing her young son and then her, as well as choosing to educate his victims about cannibalism before attacking. He enjoys maiming people and eating them. One visit you might see letters written by Eva Perón or John Adams - and on another visit you could view religious tracts by John Calvin or Martin Luther or maybe scientific studies by the likes of Galileo, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, or Albert Einstein or musical compositions by such luminaries as Ludwig von Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or Richard Wagner. The exhibition at each location changes four times per year. These libraries feature selections drawn from the world's largest private manuscript collection, which includes documents from prominent artists, composers, explorers, scientists, political leaders, religious figures, and other culturally and historically significant people. Housed in a mid-19th century Greek revival church, Charleston's Karpeles Manuscript Library is one of several such scattered around the United States. It is fascinating just to stand in a room and look at some of them. Karpeles estimates that he and his wife have acquired more than one million documents in the last 30 years. George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation and all of the documents of the Spanish Armada, including all of the correspondence between King Phillip and his commanders. Among the most interesting documents that the Karpeles has acquired are Richard Wagner's "Wedding March," Darwin's Theory of Evolution, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, a note written by Charles Lindbergh, the first printing of the Ten Commandments from The Gutenberg Bible, the Bill of Rights, Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, John Hancock's cover letter to the Declaration of Independence, Christopher Columbus' Lettera Rarissima. Following renovation, the building reopened on November 11, 1990. Hurricane Huge tore off its roof and destroyed its interior on September 21, 1989. During the Civil War, Confederates used the building as a hospital and stored medical supplies there. The building is in the Green Revival style following the Corinthian order and was inspired by the Temple of Jupiter in Rome. And how many people-certainly not me-even were aware of this wonderful depository of knowledge until I accidentally walked past the Charleston museum during our recent visit? The Charleston library is housed in a former Methodist church named St. Documents include music, science, religion, literature, political history, exploration and artwork. Items are rotated between museums quarterly and each of the museums present a daily general exhibit and one or more special scheduled exhibits throughout the year. It was founded in 1983 by California real estate magnates David and Marsha Karpeles, with the goal of stimulating interest in learning, especially in children, To make documents more accessible, there are 12 Karpeles museums located across the United States-Charleston, Alvin, Texas, two in Buffalo, N.Y., Duluth, Minn., Fort Wayne, Ind., Jacksonville, Fla., Newburgh, N.Y., Rock Island, Ill., Santa Barbara, Calif., Shreveport, La., and Tacoma, Wash. It is the world's largest private collection of original manuscripts and documents. Just the mere size and scope of the Karpeles Manuscript Library at 68 Spring Street in Charleston, South Carolina, takes your breath away. We were happy to learn that when we return mid-May, 2018, there will be a completely new exhibit on display. A concurrent permanent exhibit was a series of large format photos showing the construction of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River, a significant engineering feat. Very interesting and all written in longhand. Included were correspondence between Samuel Morse and various government entities dealing with patents, plans and contracts. We saw documents following the invention of the telegraph machine through the construction of a line between Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland. I should point out that exhibits change every four months and they follow a theme. The inside of the building is in considerably better repair than the outside and it’s a worthy home for the very interesting documents currently on exhibit. This week’s chilly wet weather called for indoor activities and the library made its way to the top of our list. We have stayed at an Air B&B pretty much across the street from the Karpeles several times and have never visited in spite of its being the most imposing building on the street. There are two valleys in front of him, one with the stolen weapons, and the other containing the full might of the Russian forces. Raglan, watching from a vantage point, issues unclear instructions for the Light Brigade to recover armaments captured by the Russians. So to October 1854 and the Battle of Balaklava. The second half of the film shows the contrast between the jollity of those at the top enjoying their military adventure, and the brutal reality of a conflict beset with errors and a huge loss of life, even before the fateful charge.Īt one point, officers are playing cricket, whilst other men injured in battle are having their limbs amputated without anaesthetic. Again the parallels with more recent conflicts are all too obvious. We now see the British people being whipped up into a frenzy over ‘the Russians’ so that war can finally be waged. Lord Raglan (John Gielgud) gives Nolan a post in his office to head-off the conflict, for now anyway. This leads him into conflict with Nolan, who stands up to Cardigan. The man in charge of the Light Brigade is Lord Cardigan (Trevor Howard) – an upper-class self-promoter who hates the more professional officers underneath him. This layer is represented in the film by the important historical character of Captain Nolan (David Hemmings), who would later be scapegoated for the disaster of the Charge. In the middle are those who have seen actual conflict and are calling for professionalism of the army. At the other end of the scale, the officers and generals are drawn from the ranks of the ruling class, with assorted Lords able to just buy senior command, despite knowing nothing. The ranks live in squalor and are brutally treated. We see a British army, idle and led by officers desperate for ‘adventure’. The first part of the film takes place in the year leading up to the war. It is both stirring, yet hinting at a darkness to come. As the Russian bear attacks ‘poor old’ Turkey, the English lion wakes, roars and…puts on a British Bobby’s hat.Īs the film credits roll, we see scenes of industry and trade, including sweatshops and child labour in the mines – all watched over by a hand-waving Queen Victoria and set against a mock-heroic score by John Addison. The animated sequence which opens the film demonstrates this to great effect. But, in reality, it was an imperialist fight for control over the territories of the fading Ottoman Empire.įrom the start, the film makes great use of Richard Williams’ extraordinary animation, done in the style of the old newspaper and Punch magazine illustrations of the time. The excuse for the war was religious persecution and the need to ‘defend’ Turkey. This was a conflict between Britain and France on the one side, and Russia on the other. The Charge took place during the Battle of Balaklava, at the height of the Crimean War (1853- 56). Tony Richardson’s 1968 film, now released on Blu-ray and on streaming platforms, was an attempt to show what really happened and, more to the point, to highlight some of the similarities to more recent military excursions, particularly the Vietnam War. The Charge has entered into heroic mythology, showing British ‘spirit’ up against terrible odds. So too with the Charge of the Light Brigade of October 1854 – a major military failure, duly immortalized in Tennyson’s famous poem. Particularly those that come under the category of huge blunders, be it Dunkirk, or Scott of the Antarctic. There has long been an odd tradition in England of glorifying defeats and disasters. This comes at a very timely moment, given the humiliation inflicted upon Western imperialism in Afghanistan. Anyone that jumped on lately will be happy and surprised to see it does what they though it'd do. The end result being anyone who used it as Curse Voice Beta is already annoyed and trying to roll it back to the previous version, I've already seen a few posts about it. For me however I'd like a blank page or "homescreen" page that isn't advertising anything to me/showing any Twitch channels. There's tons of empty space for it anyway and it's far more user friendly to see a "gear" icon for settings instead of the three line symbol.ģ, The added Twitch channel surfing/viewing was a big requested thing from people that came on board during the Twitch/curse buyout. If that toolbar is where the icons are going you might as well add a "Settings" icon and so on instead of a single drop down box. The "Followed Channels" displace my friends list. I use the app to talk to others as I always have on Curse Voice and it works wonderfully for that. Nothing wrong with how it was before but understanding that Twitch wants to keep the experience the same across all devices/website/desktop app here's a few things to change.ġ, Forced "Followed channels" on the top left. The two camps being the new Twitch App users vs the old Curse Voice Beta users. Rather interesting regarding the app that with each new update something is added that pleases one camp while annoying the other camp. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art! However, Daniel’s prayers to his heavenly father continued, getting him into trouble with the government. It starts with the King of the empire, Darius, publishing a decree stating that no citizen would be allowed to worship anyone or anything other than him for 30 days. This story takes place in the Babylonian empire. The story of Daniel and the lion’s den ( Daniel chapter 6) Remember, we are his even in death (Romans 14:8). This is because he loves us either way and is always working to use everything for our good. Life application: Job’s story teaches us that we shouldn’t just trust God when he’s doing great things in our lives – we should trust him when bad things happen too. Ultimately, God restored Job’s family, health, and wealth, leaving him with more than he had before. He even rebuked his wife saying that we can’t only trust God during good times. Instead, he continued to have absolute trust in God and looked to him. But even in the most difficult times, Job didn’t get angry at God or curse him. Ultimately Job was in so much pain and suffering that three of his friends came and sat with him in silence for seven days and seven nights.Įven Job’s wife advised him to just curse God and die. So with the permission of God, he took away Job’s health, wealth, and children. Job was such a godly man that God used to boast about him, so much so that Satan wanted to test his faith. If you’re going through hard times right now, here are some bible stories that can help you keep your faith: The story of Job (Job chapters 1 and 2) Stories about trusting God in difficult times However, there can be consequences for our disbelief. However, this doesn’t stop God’s promise from coming to pass.Īfter all, God is always faithful even when we are not. This is especially common when we’ve been waiting for something to happen for a long time. Life application: The first thing that this story teaches us it’s that it’s natural for our trust in God to falter sometimes. John went on to baptize Jesus Christ in the Jordan River and pave the way for his ministry. Months later, she gave birth to a child called John and Zechariah started to speak again. Interestingly, by the time Zechariah went home to his wife after the ordeal, she was already pregnant. Since Zechariah doubted the good news because both he and his wife were past child-bearing age, the angel made him mute. One day when he was doing his priestly duties in the temple, the angel Gabriel appeared to him and told him that his wife would have a baby boy soon. They had trusted in God for a long time and continued to serve him diligently. Zechariah and Elizabeth were another bible couple that longed for a child for many years. The story of Elizabeth and Zechariah (Luke 1:5-25) After all, it’s not in God’s character to lie – he is not a man (Number 23:19). However, the most important lesson in this story is undoubtedly the importance of trusting the promises of God even when things get frustrating. Life application: There are many lessons to be learned from the type of faith Abraham had. After many years, God’s promise finally came to pass and Sarah gave birth to her son called Isaac.īeyond that, God made Abraham’s descendants as many as the stars and blessed them abundantly. While it was hard for Abraham to believe in this, he kept his faith. In the book of Genesis, God promises Abraham that he will give him a son through his wife Sarah despite their old age. If you’re struggling with this, here are some stories to help you out: The story of Abraham, his wife Sarah, and their son Isaac (Genesis chapter 15-21) One of the greatest signs that you trust God is that you trust his timing.
